The Sisterhood of the Outdoors has lead me to a new-found hunting passion. There is no better way to get into waterfowl hunting than attending the Women’s Waterfowl Weekend trip in Maryland. Incredible comradery, instruction, and plenty of birds flying into the spread contributed to an unforgettable experience. The Upper Bay Gun Club provided us with top notch guides, Victoria Jones and Thom Slavin. We had extreme weather conditions, freezing temperatures and unbelievable winds, but these waterfowl enthusiasts were on top of their game providing us with action packed days in the field!
The skies were full as we bunkered down into our pit blinds or set up in the A-Frame. These mornings and afternoons spent hunting provided me with new knowledge and new friends. The women that were brought together for this weekend were from all skill levels and backgrounds. For instance, my hunting background only started about three years ago, but those that have been hunting longer aided in my experience. As a group we were different on many levels, but we all shared a love for hunting, the outdoors, and sisterhood.
